About Stonetide

My professional life in education has been deeply fulfilling. But as the world speeds up — with AI, automation, and fast everything — I’ve felt the soul slipping from how we shop, connect, and adorn our spaces and selves. Beautiful things have become disposable, and so often, we forget where they come from, who made them, or why we chose them at all.

Stonetide is a call back. A return to connection.

Each piece — whether jewellery or homeware — is made slowly, deliberately, and with purpose. We release only one small collection a week, often just a handful of items. No mass production. No warehouse stockpiles. Just meaningful design, infused with earth, tide, and time.

We invite you to honour what you buy. To hold dear the item that found you. To feel the stone, the knot, the thread — and the intention it holds.

Stonetide is for those who crave realness in a world of replicas.
For those who want beauty to mean something.
And for those who know that slow is not behind — it’s ahead.

Stonetide is the evolution of a heartfelt creative journey — a step up from the playful beginnings of Kniccas in a Knot, my hobby brand of handcrafted pieces knotted together on lounge-room floors, market stalls and long road trips. What began as a passion has grown into something more grounded, intentional, and ready to share with the world.

I’m Nicci Riley — educator, maker, and wanderer. I’ve lived and worked across Australia, Scotland, Bhutan and Sri Lanka as well as regional, outback and in the cities of Australia. Wherever I go, I collect stories and materials: stones from rivers, mountains, cities and coastlines, threads from markets, and textures from culture and presence. Every element that ends up in a Stonetide piece carries with it a sense of where it’s from — and why it matters.
